     After many years in the cattle business, Billie and I decided to pursue a more rewarding and less frustrating livestock endeavor. Result - we purchased our first Mediterranean Miniature Donkey in 1996. Our goal was to build our herd up to six head. We were so taken by these little creatures that we soon had a herd of forty plus. Deciding to move to Durango, Colorado in 1997, we were faced with with the dilemma of selling off most of our new little friends when along came my wonderful sister Ann and her husband Jim who recently purchased a farm in Brenham, Texas, and had grown to love these loveable animals as much as we do. A partnership was formed with a small herd coming to Colorado and the primary herd remaining in Texas.

     TEX*ASS MINIATURES is now one of the premier miniature donkey herds in the United States with donkeys being shipped throughout the country from both the Texas and the Colorado locations.
